Universal Curriculum is a FREE resource for classroom and home-school teachers. It is a COMPLETE K-12 curriculum with all necessary materials that addresses all U.S.A. national standards, from math to music, and can be adapted for use in other countries. It is a PERSONALIZED and PROJECT-BASED series of six 5-week units per grade level.

About the ProjectThe Universal Curriculum is a project based on the idea that learning should be free. This curriculum is a series of six units per grade level meant to span the entire school year. It can be accessed and used, free of charge, by school administrators, teachers, homeschool groups, parents, interested students, or anyone else. It is based of United States national standards developed by the relevant group for that subject and designed to be adaptable for use in any state or country. Each unit lasts approximately five weeks and covers all subjects except foreign language.
Currently, the project has no completed units. The Fourth Grade Individual Personhood Unit, Making Arguments, will be completed next. Want the next unit faster? Join the project.

UnitsThere are six themed personalized learning units which repeat for each grade level. The themes are general overarching ideas and each grade level has a more specific variant on each theme that matches the covered standards and the developmental level of the students.
Each unit covers all subjects except foreign language. It is best to start the school year with the Individual Personhood unit and end with the Preparing for Tomorrow unit. The other units can be arranged in any order, depending on class needs. |
Grade LevelsThe Universal Curriculum is designed to be developmentally appropriate, with more scaffolding and teacher-directed instruction in the younger grades and less in the older grades. It is a challenging curriculum, however, all students can successfully complete the goals with support and/or modification as needed.
The Universal Curriculum is designed in a personalized learning model and is very adaptable to student and teacher needs. It is also completely subject-integrated and offers many choices to students which encourage student buy-in. |
"It is, in fact, nothing short of a miracle that the modern methods of instruction have not yet entirely strangled the holy curiosity of inquiry; for this delicate little plant, aside from stimulation, stands mainly in need of freedom; without this it goes to wrack and ruin without fail. It is a very grave mistake to think that the enjoyment of seeing and searching can be promoted by means of coercion and a sense of duty."
